Falcon Nest, an energy efficient 10-storey home in Prescott, Arizona is now on the market for $2.8 million. It is the tallest home in the United States.
At 37.79 meters tall, 576 square meters and relying on solar energy, Falcon Nest was deliberately placed high on the terrain so it could have full access to sunlight. The height of the home is designed to work like a chimney pushing hot air out the top while drawing cool air in from below. It also can trap warm air on the living level during cooler months.
Falcon Nest features 3 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths; the master bedroom was designed to provide perfect views for watching shooting stars. Inhabitants can take the 44 stairs or enjoy the elevator that services levels 1-6.
Level 6 is a spacious loft area that contains the kitchen, two of the bedrooms, an entertainment area and fireplace. The balcony on the seventh floor wraps around the dwelling’s entire circumference and provides even more unobstructed views.
