The trend of athleisure wear is on the upswing and the El Segundo company Brandblack is trying to take over.
Sneakers were their first product launch, which Jamal Crawford of the L.A. Clippers showcased during this past season. Yet shoes seem to be just the beginning for David Raysse, the founder of Brandblack.
David’s father was one of the founders of Kenzo and his mother was the first black model on the cover of Vogue (Italia 1971). With those genes, a knowledge of the fashion business and the fact that he’s a former high-school and college basketball player, David Raysse may have hit a home run with his new Spring/Summer 2015 men’s apparel collection. The collection is campaigned under the title “Future Legends”.
The gear infuses a more L.A. aesthetic, where outdoor sports and activities are plentiful. The collection covers everything from shorts, hoodies and tees to pants, jackets and and his first success, sneakers.
