Taking at look at luxurious Instagram and the Christian Louboutin world.
Some brands just get social media. For luxury brands, social media offers an opportunity to display behind the scenes insight into the handcrafted design process, exclusive imagery for your social media followers, special engagement and a chance to have a fun, fresh voice that relishes in the charmed life that comes with living the brand. These social media identities can also reveal the brand’s humanitarian efforts and a sense of responsible conscious luxury.
Today, I had to take time to appreciate the account of Christian Louboutin. The brand’s Instagram identity, @louboutinworld declares, “We live in #LouboutinWorld, do you?“. This Christian Louboutin world not only displays the brand’s unique imagery but also uses the platform to celebrate fun imagery created by fans and followers around the world. It features a fun voice and even provides unique glimpses into the designer’s creative process and inspirations. The account shows the red soles as a philosophy rather than just a coveted status symbol or fashionista collector’s item.
As they stated on their media announcement:
“We live in #LouboutinWorld. Do you? Starting today, we’re celebrating the hundreds of thousands of beautiful images created by fans around the world with the launch of #LouboutinWorld. A unique online gallery, #LouboutinWorld collects the very best images of Christian Louboutin’s shoes, bags, accessories and nail colour that have been shared to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram by fans and followers – millions to date, using hashtags like #BeauteLouboutin and #RedSoles.
Christian Louboutin sees #LouboutinWorld as an opportunity to share excitement with all of his fans, celebrating their love for everything from his sculptural stilettoes or handcrafted leather goods to their Louboutin manicures, and insists this is just the beginning.”
To celebrate the 4th of July, a man pulls a quasi-Michael Jackson move on a pier displaying his red soles in freedom and independence.

Parisian cabaret Les Folies Bergère is where it all began for Christian Louboutin – at age 16, he interned in the glamorous company of showgirls. Last week, he returned with @mikainstagram for the incredible circus, La Veritá. If you're in Paris between now and July 5, it's a must see – tell them Christian Louboutin sent you!
Christian Louboutin goes back to where it all started.
Then there are sneak previews into the designer’s creative process.
Enthusiasts can interact with the brand and have a chance to be featured by tagging their shoes, bags and nail color with #Louboutinworld and following the fashion giant on Instagram.
