I’m excited about the Pantone color of 2017 and going green can be really fun with these 4 earrings that not only celebrate the color, but also have great stories behind the products.
Going Green 4 Earrings that celebrate the Pantone color of 2017
Pantone’s color of 2017 is Greenery, a color that signals new beginnings and revitalization. It evokes nature, excites the imagination and welcomes thoughts of renewal, the tropics and leaves bathing in the sun. Below are a range of earrings I love from Zambian emeralds to Colombian beadwork. They indicate what I expect to see more of in 2017: greens that range from brights to jades to emeralds and everything in between.
I recently saw these Kimberly McDonald Gemfields Signature Irregular Diamond Bar Studs with Ethically Sourced Zambian Emerald set in 18K White Gold (pictured above) on the lovely Louise Roe during the Golden Globes. Kimberly McDonald’s eponymous line is committed to connection and creation without destruction. She sources the finest natural materials, reclaimed gold and recycled diamonds to handcraft the collection in the United States with sustainability in mind. “I’m proud that I have such strong relationships with every level of the process – from miners to craftsmen,” Kimberly states. “Each piece is made with care and respect, values we stand for.”
MÂKUA is a Colombian jewelry brand that creates unique pieces using indigenous ancestral techniques with a contemporary vision. Headquarted in Medellin, their designs can be shipped worldwide and are priced in US dollars. I love the (above) Arete Oscar Verde (90 US) and the (pictured below) Aretes Rombo Emberá in Verde with 18k gold plated band and ear jacket. (95 US).
Named after a legendary courtesan whose beauty has been fabled since the days of Buddha, Amrapali is a global luxury brand utilizing over 1200 craftsmen in its studios. Founded by Rajesh Ajmera & Rajiv Arora, the brand offers unique and distinctly designed Indian jewelry.
These (above) Amrapali 18kt Gold Diamond Studded Geometric Emerald Pearl Jhumki Earrings (2,426 US) feature clustered pearl drops at the end of an alignment of emeralds and onyx details.
