Taking a look at Savoir Beds bespoke luxury bed brand from hospitality icon The Savoy.
You spend a third of your life in bed. Study after study proves that recuperative sleep helps protect us from diabetes, improves our concentration and heightens creativity. The founders of The Savoy in London have always understood the importance of sleep. Over the past 100 years, they have perfected sleep to a level of art through ultra-luxe beds. Now, The Savoy has extended its overall brand and that artful sleep acumen by offering Savoir Beds: bespoke luxury beds for homes, hotels and yachts.
Savoir Beds are handcrafted in west London and Wales. In their bedworks studios, artisans and craftspeople tack and shape each bed with expert precision. There are no assembly lines. They are no menacing and mindless machines mass producing. Like the best tailors on Saville Row, these artists do not begin on a bed until the order has been placed. Clients have four core models of beds from to choose and can then request further specifications on that choice.
The mattresses are filled with natural fibers such as horsehair, cotton and wool. The blend is designed to keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer while contouring to your body for maximum comfort. The details are in the details: hair roll edges, handtufting and the foreman’s signature on the label of the bed they have created.
There are also three varieties of toppers for Savoir beds. All options are made entirely from natural fibers and the outer layer can either be lambswool or cashmere. You can also acquire specialty sheets from the brand in high thread counts.
Add to this the myriad possibilities for headboards and it quickly becomes apparent that no two Savoir Beds are ever alike. There in lies the challenge, the creative expression of the brand and the allure for its clients.
